Structure

The pump is horizontal, single stage, single suction, overhung, double casing, centrifugal slurry pump. Main parts: impeller, volute liner, suction bush, back cover plate, pump cover and casing. The character is: the wet parts' material is special high chrome alloy anti-wearing casting iron, long using life. The discharge of the pump can realize to change at 45 degree interval. The sealing can be mechanical, packing gland or expeller.

A slurry pump is a type of pump designed for pumping liquid containing solid particles. Slurry pumps changes in design and construction to adjust to multiple type of slurry which varies in concentration of solids, size of solid particles, shape of solid particles, and composition of solution. Slurry pump are more robust than liquid pumps; they have added sacrificial material and replaceable wear parts to withstand wear due to abrasion.

centrifugal, positive displacement, and vortex pumps can be used for slurry. Centrifugal slurry pumps can have between bearing-supported shafts with split casing or rubber- or metal-lined casing. Configurations include horizontal, vertical suspended and submersible.

slurry is usually classified according to the concentration of solids. Engineering classification of slurry is more complex and involves concentration, particle size, shape and weight in order to determine abrasion severity. For engineering selection of slurry pumps, slurry is classified as class 1, class 2, class 3 and class 4.

motor: could be electric or hydraulic. The cooling of the electric submersible slurry pump is important. If the slurry pump works semi-submerged or if it is going to work dry for extended periods of time, it should include a cooling jacket. For heavy duty electric slurry submersible pumps is recommended to have a motor with class h insulation. They could include also high temperature and /or moisture sensors. Impeller: the impeller is the rotating component of the slurry pump. It transfers the centrifugal force to the slurry. Usually made of high-chrome spheroidal cast iron that is very abrasion resistant. The impeller could be closed, semi-open, open or recessed.

casing: the casing shape is generally of semi-volute or concentric. It is normally made of cast iron, but depending of the application could come with protective anti-corrosion coating, or could be made in special alloys for abrasive applications.

shaft and bearing assembly: the shaft is used to transmit the rotatory movement from the motor to the impeller. The shaft has heavy-duty roller bearings that prevent its displacement in other directions and reduce vibration.

liners – common material hard metal liners are completely interchangeable with pressure molded elastomer. Elastomer seal rings back all liner joints. Easily replaceable liners are bolted, not glued, to the casing for positive attachment and east of maintenance.

impeller – common material hard metal and molded elastomer impellers are completely interchangeable. Front and rear shrouds have pump out vanes that reduce recirculation and seal contamination.

throat bush – common material hard metal and molded elastomer impellers are completely interchangeable. Wear is reduced and maintenance simplified by the use of tapered mating faces to allow positive accurate alignment during assembly and simple removal.
